Psalm 69:30

While Lent is a solemn period, its purpose is to help us cultivate a Christ-like life. Rather than viewing fasting as a period of punishment, we should see it as a blessing and opportunity for thanksgiving.

The church has set aside this time for us to advance spiritually and to go closer to God. While our daily lives tend to rob us of this blessing, we are provided with another chance to repent and change our lives.
