Prayerful Repetition

There’s a phrase a special priest from the Life-Giving Monastery told me to keep close to my heart. It comes from Psalm 51:10 and says “create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me.”

While the Jesus Prayer is so sacred and unique, this small line is very dear to my heart. I try to remember it often, and it has become a great source of comfort and humility.

My priest told me that the more we read, the more we remember. When we can, we should use our biblical readings as weapons against the evil one. The Word of the Lord is powerful and we must cherish it always.
