Preparing for Feast Days

I love how the church prepares us for holy days by aligning them with the gospel and epistle readings.

It truly serves as a great reminder for the blessed days to come. With Pentecost this weekend, our gospel reading today ends on this note: “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth.”

How incredible that we bear the truth of the Lord today. For 2,000 years, the Lord has used the church to preserve and spread His Truth.

Pentecost is not only special because it serves as the day the gospel became universal, but also because it is the day in which Lord allowed us to commune with Him. We partake of Him every Sunday through the Holy Eucharist and His presence resounds within us.

Let us remember the blessings of Pentecost as we draw near to celebrating.
