Scents of Holiness

As simple as it is, there is something so special about things that are handmade.

These soap bars are from the Life-Giving Spring Monastery and St. Paisius Monastery.

One of my favorite memories from the Life-Giving Spring Monastery was when my friends and I helped the sisters carve handmade soap bars.

I'll never forget that feeling of joy and peace as we gathered together, sisters in Christ, within the safe haven of the monastery walls.

Scents of sweet lilac and fresh bread remind me of my home away from home.

Never have I felt such holiness as at the monastery.

If you've never been to an Orthodox monastery, I highly encourage it. You will be forever changed. There is nothing so peaceful and lovely in this world.
