Holy Monday Reflections

Blessed Holy Week! I hope you all experienced the beauty and glory of Palm Sunday yesterday!

On Holy Monday, we are observing the Bridegroom Service which is a reminder to us of God’s Love and His kingdom.

We must prepare ourselves at all times and remain vigilant for we are awaiting the return of Christ, our True bridegroom.🙏🏼

Today, are also commemorating St. Joseph the Patriarch who prefigured Christ.

As Joseph’s brother, Judah, suggested betraying Joseph and selling him into slavery for 20 pieces of silver, Christ was betrayed by Judas for 30 pieces of silver.

While both Joseph and Jesus were falsely accused and endured suffering, they both were victorious through God’s providence.

This is a testament to faith which is another theme of today as we read about the withered fig tree.

The disciples were amazing at Jesus’ power by withering the fig tree, but Jesus told them that they too could perform such wonders and even greater works if they had faith and never doubted.

May we use the lessons of faith from today and apply them to our lives so that we can rejoice at the Lord’s resurrection!
