Reminders of Christian Living

Here’s a verse I haven’t heard in a while. It’s a beautiful reminder of Christian living.

“Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.”
{Proverbs 1:1}

What an incredible place to be where we yield fruitful virtues that glorify the Lord.

My priest recently noted to me how simply associating with things that are contrary to God, whether it be profane language or promiscuity is the gateway to the devil.

In a world where these things are exalted, it’s easy to have access to them whether it be through music, TV shows, magazines etc.

The evil one uses our exposure to these things, whether voluntary or involuntary, as the means for temptation.

Let’s strive to protect our ears, eyes and hearts from the things of this world so that we may present ourselves pure to God.
