Obeying God, Not Men
🌿Good afternoon/evening everyone!🌿 I hope your day has been productive! Mine sure has! Between preparing meals and studying, its hard to fit other activities into my schedule.
.
Have you read your daily readings?
.
Today’s Epistle describes a very important lesson we should apply to our lives: “We must obey God rather than men.”
.
Being a Christian in today’s world requires a significant amount of faith and boldness. Christ foretold, as He was persecuted, so too will we be persecuted for a servant is not greater than his master.
.
Persecution comes in a variety of forms, like when your boss asks you to do something dishonest or when a friend tries to bribe you for personal gain.
.
In these situations, we must remember to remain true to our Christian vows and never falter from that which is right.
.
The consequences of following God rather than men are often difficult, but the reward of preserving the Truth is great.
.
We may suffer as a result of maintaining our virtue, but this is a temporal endurance. The alternative to listening to our conscience is serious damage to our souls.
.
We can not serve two masters. Either we are with God or we are against Him.
.
May God enlighten us to pursue Him in all that we do so that we many avoid the temptations of men and the world.
