Holy Wednesday Reflections

Blessed Holy Wednesday! Can you believe we’re already halfway through Holy Week?!

Are you all going to church tonight?

Tonight it’s especially important to attend services, because we will be partaking in the sacrament of Holy Unction.

I love how the church offers so many tools to help us prepare our minds, bodies, and souls for Pascha.

We pray so that our minds are filled with that which is holy. We fast so that we can control the passions which impede our bodies. We partake of Holy Unction so that our souls are purified before communing of the Resurrection mysteries.

Each element of our Lenten journey is provided so that we can ultimately share in the joy of Christ’s victory over death.

Let us continue to press on so that we too can share in the blessing of eternal life granted to us by Christ’s sacrifice and triumph.
